We just noticed this very informative guide on the SEC's EDGAR web site. For anyone who doesn't know, EDGAR is probably the single-most valuable resource for individual and professional investors in U.S. corporations. The last modification date for the guide is listed as 27 April 2007, but we're wondering if that might have been the original publication date.
